Following the controversies between the Comptroller General of Customs Hammed Ali and the National
assembly, a debate ensued during plenary at the National Assembly today over the case. Hammed had secured a letter from the Attorney General of Federation defending his action of appearing before the senate without his uniform.
The letter caused an uproar amongst senators and alot of them spoke againts it calling it an isnult to the house. Senators Dino Melaye who spoke amongs others started by saying, 'I'm an authentic graduate and student of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Ali is not fit and qualified to hold the position of Comptroller General of Customs'.
